Dales Pits
Today i went fishing at Dales Pits. I started around 2 to 3 oclock and i decided to fish on peg 9 as the peg was in shade and there was a nice wind blowing into it. This was perfect because it was around 26 celsius and most of the other pegs on the lake was flat calm. I also walked around and could only see the odd carp rolling and the odd bream and some small silverfish on the top which was very unusual. I decided to fish for the big roach which thrive in these waters. I started of loose feedin maggots and fishing a single maggot on a size 22 hookon the drop. This immediatly brought roach ,rudd, ide and skimmers to the net perfect for match fishing. I fished on the whip 4 metres to hand. around 20 minutes into sessio i latched on to something a little bit bigger this turned out to be a crucain carp around 10 ounces. Then the swim went quiet and i hooked a 3lb bream. I got smashed off twice presumably carp but u never know in this theres big tench eels big cruicians so who knows what it was.at around 4 or 5 oclock i hook into a big roac which was around the 1 1/2 lb mark. I carried on for a little while but nothing else came except from small fish. Sorry theres no pictures as i forgot my camera. Now for those big bream and tench. until next time the obsessive angler.
